Train of Books

While in NYC last week, I commented that New Yorkers seem to read more than others—the subway was full of readers, and I spent a lovely lunch hour reading with hundreds of strangers in Bryant Park

Apparently, I'm not the only one who's noticed this. The Underground New York Public Library is collecting images of commuters reading while riding the New York City subways. Photographer Ourit Ben-Haim is the collection curator, snapping pictures of the city at storytime since 2008.  Each photo links to the product page for the book in that shot, so you too, can share the story.

I haven't jumped on the eReader train yet, and seeing someone holding an actual book makes me so happy. I've gotten in the habit of listening to books on tape during my 20 minute drive to work, so I guess technically I'm reader commuter as well!
